This is the moral nihilism of Donald Trump, the alt-right and the white power movement nestled comfortably in its shadow. There is no right and wrong. No moral high ground. No lines that cannot be crossed. There is only the muck through which we all sift and all that matters is who managed to climb to the top of the biggest pile mud.
The insistence by Trump and others that the violence in Charlottesville is the fault of “many sides” is an act of willful ignorance that refuses to acknowledge the racists at the center of the storm
